Asan Medical Center

Asan Medical Center was established in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, in 1989, guided by the philosophy of Chung Ju-yung, founder of the Hyundai Group and the Asan Foundation, to “help the most underprivileged members of our society.”

As the largest hospital in South Korea, Asan Medical Center operates 2,446 beds and treats approximately 3.31 million outpatients and 930,000 inpatients each year, while performing more than 70,000 highly complex surgical procedures annually.

One in eight cancer patients in South Korea receives care at Asan Medical Center, while approximately 200,000 patients with cardiovascular diseases visit the hospital annually.

As the first single institution in the world to surpass 9,000 liver transplantations, Asan Medical Center is globally recognized for its leadership in treating complex diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and organ failure requiring transplantation.
