We are pleased to share the 2024 Generation Patient Annual Report. Generation Patient is a member of ICHOM’s Patient Partner Alliance and support young adults with chronic conditions through peer support, policy advocacy, and leadership programming.
Their focus highlights the importance of engaging young adults in clinical trials and healthcare system reforms, ensuring that they have a voice in shaping research and policies that impact their care. The report details various initiatives, including virtual peer-support meetings, health policy research, and international advocacy efforts to improve the quality of life for young adults navigating chronic illnesses.
Generation Patient is actively working to enhance collaboration between healthcare professionals and young adult patients. The organization has launched a Delphi consensus panel to identify challenges in clinician-patient interactions and to develop recommendations for improving care. Additionally, the Crohn’s and Colitis Young Adults Network (CCYAN) provides a platform for clinicians to engage with young patients, offering opportunities for expert panels, research collaborations, and conference participation, such as the Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (AIBD) Conference. Clinicians are encouraged to participate in research, provide mentorship, and contribute to developing patient-centered care models.
