The Transport Accident Commission (TAC)

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation dedicated to caring for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads.

Through a unique combination of road safety advocacy, insurance, and rehabilitation services, TAC works to prevent transport accidents and support those affected by them. The organisation provides treatment, income support, and recovery programs for people injured in road accidents, while investing heavily in prevention initiatives aimed at creating a safer future for all Victorians.

TAC’s expertise lies in integrating prevention and recovery within a single model, uniting evidence-based care, client-centred support, and strong partnerships with healthcare providers. Its approach to Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) reflects a commitment to measuring and improving outcomes that truly matter to clients, ensuring that recovery is both meaningful and effective.

In supporting the development of the ICHOM Major Injuries Set, TAC reinforces its mission to deliver world-class, outcome-driven care. Standardised, internationally recognised measures enable TAC to benchmark success, enhance transparency, and continuously refine how it delivers value to clients.
