ICHOM and Statista continue to strengthen the role of patient-reported outcomes in the World’s Best Hospitals ranking
The 2027 Statista PROMs Implementation Survey is now open, giving hospitals around the world the opportunity to demonstrate how they are implementing patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and using them to improve care.
At ICHOM, we believe that measuring the outcomes that matter most to patients is fundamental to improving healthcare. Through our partnership with Statista, we are helping to strengthen the role of PROMs within the Newsweek and Statista World’s Best Hospitals ranking, ensuring that patient-reported outcomes are increasingly recognized as an important measure of healthcare quality.
Many of the hospitals recognized in the World’s Best Hospitals ranking have invested in the infrastructure and expertise needed to collect and use patient-reported outcomes in routine care. The annual PROMs Implementation Survey provides hospitals with an opportunity to demonstrate this work, including the PROMs instruments they use and how patient-reported data feeds back into clinical practice and decision-making.
PROMs are a defined component of the World’s Best Hospitals ranking methodology, complementing clinical indicators and reputation metrics. Consistent and strong PROMs implementation can therefore contribute to a hospital being recognized alongside leading healthcare organizations worldwide.
