Luis Prieto

Vice President Outcomes Research and Development

Luis is responsible for the development and adoption of ICHOM’s Standard Sets worldwide. He began his career in 1990 as a researcher at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) in Barcelona. Prior to joining ICHOM, Luis worked as head of epidemiological surveillance in a consumer goods company, responsible for running studies aimed at monitoring the safety of novel smoke-free tobacco products, and their impact on health. Since 2007 Luis is a Distance Learning Tutor at the Faculty of Public Health and Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Since 2017 he is an Associate Editor on Global Health for the journal BMC Public Health.

Luis has a master's degree in public health and a doctorate in epidemiology (UAB, Spain), an MBA (ESADE, Spain), and a PGDip in Health Economics (University of York).
