Luz Sousa Fialho is a Director of Outcomes Research at ICHOM, overseeing the development of ICHOM's Sets of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures. Luz is a pharmacologist by training, having obtained her undergraduate degree from Imperial College London, and completed her doctoral studies at the University of Oxford with a focus on type 2 diabetes and cardiac metabolism.

Luz worked in academia, in the pharmaceutical industry and in the nonprofit sector before joining ICHOM, where she started as a project leader managing ICHOM's mental health portfolio. Last year, Luz led ICHOM's efforts to respond to the COVID-19 crisis, developing a Set of Patient-Centered Outcome Measures  for this condition in record time.
